Gold Medals At Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Games

Great news! I was awarded two gold medals in the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Games, for entries in the Short Story and Poetry competitions. This year’s theme was “Play in PA”.

The Senior Fitness Games, which are held every other year, were postponed in 2020 but went ahead this year. The events ranging from Golf, Pickleball and Track and Field to Contract Bridge and Writing competitions took place June 14-16 in Prince Albert. I was visiting my daughter and family in Kamloops when I got the call that I had won two gold medals.

If you want to read the winning entries, contact me!

2020 NEWS & EVENTS

New Novel Released In August - 'Conspiracy'

“Feeding the world is complicated,” says Joel Weston, a world-traveller, musician and poet—and a farmer. His wife Krissy, an agronomist, sells fertilizer and chemicals to promote efficiency in crop production.

Conspiracy explores many themes: how farmers balance production vs. what is best for the environment; how rural communities pull together; the joys and stresses of rural life. But mostly, it’s about relationships. Joel and Krissy are a young couple realizing their dreams of living on a farm involve very different goals. Grace and Walter, at the end of their farming careers, deal with issues of aging in a rural setting.

The characters are fictional, but you may recognize in them people you have met! These are themes I see around me and feel compelled to write about. I hope you will enjoy the telling.

P.S. For those of you who read Buried and have been asking about Tera, Conspiracy may give you a glimpse into her new life.
